Our Favourites For This Month!
Verbrechen Ferdinand von Schirach A jolting debut collection of short stories that daringly brings to light the motivations stirring within the criminal mind. By turns witty and sorrowful, unflinchingly brutal and heartbreaking, the deeply affecting, quietly unnerving cases presented in Verbrechen urge a closer examination of guilt and innocence.
"I read this book in one go; von Schirach is a defense lawyer and this collection of short stories is based on some of his most memorable cases. With the way he is telling the story, you will automatically be drawn in. You can't resist his style of writing. I found myself thinking about some of the stories long time after I finished reading the book."

Kind 44 Tom Rob Smith Soviet Union officer Leo Demidov, an idealistic war hero, believes he's building a perfect society. But after witnessing the interrogation of an innocent man, his loyalty begins to waver, and when ordered to investigate his own wife, Raisa, Leo is forced to choose where his heart truly lies.
"I came across this book accidentally whilst on holidays. To my surprise, I could not put it down! A compelling story, and gripping till the end!"
