Dr. Lee Xenakis Blonder is a biomedical anthropologist who earned her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. After completing a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Neurology at the University of Florida, she joined the faculty of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. With over 30 years of experience conducting research and teaching undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, she is passionate about health and wellness. Dr. Blonder brings a unique perspective to these issues as an anthropologist, educator, and patient. She developed an integrative and alternative medicine educational program and has published numerous articles and book chapters. She secured extramural grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Weil Foundation to fund her research and teaching. Now retired, she is writing and pursuing her interests in holistic health.
