Series: Sundae
When Sundae's friends ask her to join them riding bikes, she stays behind because her bike still has training wheels, but Sundae feels much safer with them on. Instead, she busies herself with finding colorful rocks and making up rhymes. But when snarky Junior and Journey make fun of Sundae for playing alone and about her babyish bike, she becomes determined to prove them wrong.

Learning to ride without training wheels is not as easy as she thought it would be, but with her dad's help and her own self-belief and determination, she is soon riding like a pro and all the neighborhood kids-including Junior and Journey-cheer for Sundae with respect for her perseverance and grit. Sundae is thankful to the Lord for giving her the strength to succeed and to her dad for his unwavering support.

Vibrant illustrations by Demont Pinder bring to life the energy and optimism of Grantham's story. Families and educators alike will welcome an opportunity to have a storytime dialogue about the power of believing in oneself and positive relationships. Daddy's Favorite Sundae is the follow-up title to the well-received Grandma's Favorite Sundae, combining playful and positive storytelling with light prayer.

Children's author Dawn Grantham has always wanted to be a storyteller and had imagined kids reading her books and discussing it with their friends. Her books are inspired by her own childhood memories that she shares through the written word and also includes a bit of spirituality where she can. Dawn's Sundae picture book series follows a little girl as she navigates her way through childhood and builds important relationships. Dawn thinks a great book is one with interesting characters that kids can relate to. She hopes her young readers come away from her Sundae stories with a belief in themselves and an ability to foster relationships that stays with them long after the book is closed. A retired Media Reconciliation Specialist in Advertising, Dawn is a Trustee at Church and on its Praise and Worship Team. She has gratitude for being a wife, mother, and grandmother and has love for God, her family, and friends. When she isn't writing heartwarming stories for children, Dawn enjoys crocheting, gardening, spending time with her family and spoiling her grandkids with her husband where they live in New York.
