Reviews for Building financial resilience to climate change: Preparing for the storms ahead

"Clear and concise. This book will save you thousands of dollars. Perhaps the most important book you will read all year. Veteran environmentalist/conservationist and startup entrepreneur Ken Smith offers a well-researched, concise and powerful wakeup call about how climate change will affect our financial futures, including a list of publicly available resources for planning for this. A must-add to the bookshelf of anyone who's serious about personal financial planning. The topic covered in this book has not gotten much attention anywhere yet and I am grateful to learn about it in such a detailed and comprehensive way. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to prepare and plan for the future! Excellently written and very well presented information. Definitely a good base for financial knowledge. Author has a high level of understanding of the intersection of climate crisis and financial risk. Quick read without meaningless filler. Good charts and graphics. It's an important book for people to understand how we should be our institutions (government, insurance companies, businesses, municipalities, etc.) to create community resilience. Appreciated this well-written and clear book by Kenneth Smith. Thanks for bringing this book to life! This book takes a thoughtful look at the growing financial implications of the ""inevitable surprises"" that accompany climate change, and the personal, institutional, and structural financial gaps that are emerging in coping with these implications. In addition to addressing why these financial gaps are occurring, the book lays out the beginnings of a smart roadmap for institutions, communities, and individuals to plan for resilience as destructive weather events occur with increasing frequency and growing impact. Well laid out risks based on data that is easy to follow. Highlights less obvious implications and suggested actions to consider."
