No content found.
Raguenaud guides parents on how to introduce a second language to their children. The book deals directly with the obstacles to sustaining a second language, including unsupportive relatives, lack of resources, issues at school, frequent relocations, special needs and discrimination, countering each one with the author's firsthand experience with both sides of the growing-up bilingual journey, as a child and as a parent. Raguenaud uses practical strategies and techniques for any family or instructor to ensure that children stay engaged and active in every language available to them. Employing specific activities and games to show families not only how to teach their kids more than one language, but also helps them retain and develop those skills, both in and outside of the home, as they grow.

Global nomad and bilingual writer Virginie Raguenaud is a mother of French-and English-speaking twins. She is currently studying for a degree in Intercultural Relations.
An amazing book- exactly what countless parents in our globalizing world have been looking for! As more and more bicultural and bilingual families form, the issues Virginie Raguenaud addresses become increasingly urgent. Not only does she dispel common anxiety-producing myths, but she also gives clear, practical ways for how parents can help their children develop fluency in each heritage language.--Ruth E.
