Joe Willigan Ross is a Bunuba leader from Fitzroy Crossing and Director of the Bunuba Dawangirri Aboriginal Corporation. Joe and his family are custodians of many Bunuba stories and he adapted this story in Bunuba. Stacey Bush is his partner and wrote the English version. They live in Fitzroy Crossing, WA. Remi Nyandat Ross and Boheme Baiana Ross are the son and daughter of Joe and Stacey. This is the first published book they have illustrated.
