The reading comprehension sections use eight easy-to-read chapters from the novel Speak English like Australians! This easy-to-read novel is helpful to migrants as they will share the experiences in the book. The stories include things about: migration, assimilation, self-identity, racism, intolerance, bullying, sexism, compulsive disorders, cultural misunderstandings and arranged marriages! Listen to stories on YouTube. Learners will relate to the true stories, about the experiences of a migrant family in rural Hamilton, in western Victoria. The stories are easy to relate to and are honest about what can happen to people as they settle into a new country with a different culture and try to learn Aussie English. They stimulate discussions with friends as well as in class.

Also, learners can improve their listening and pronunciation skills by listening to stories read by Aussies and to the pronunciation of the Aussie sounds on YouTube. Then learners can complete extra listening activities and pronunciation exercises in each of the Grammar & Activities Text Books.
