Dr. Shiva Gorjian is currently an assistant professor of biosystems engineering at Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran. She received her PhD in biosystems engineering, a branch of Renewable Energy Technologies, from TMU in 2014. After finishing her PhD, she began her career as an expert in the field of solar energy technologies, particularly their applications in agriculture, at the Renewable Energy Research Institute of TMU, which continued two years. She is also a referee in the Iran National Science Foundation, Vice Presidency for Science and Technology. Her fields of interest include solar desalination technologies, hybrid PVT systems, renewable-based power generation systems, energy and exergy analysis, and modeling and simulation of energy systems. Dr. Petro Elia Campana is Assistant Professor at Malardalen University. In 2014, he was a research assistant at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Austria. In 2015, he received his Ph.D. in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Malardalen University. From 2015 until 2019, he was a research assistant professor at Malardalen University. In 2017-2019, he split his time between Malardalen University and KTH - Royal Institute of Technology. He has been visiting researcher at the Universidad Tecnologica de Bolivar, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Zhejiang University, and the Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research of China. Since 2016, he has been appointed as Assistant Editor of the Elsevier journal Applied Energy, written more than 80 publications among peer-reviewed international journals, conferences, books/monographs, and book chapters. His research fields include distributed renewable energy systems, solar radiation assessment, energy in buildings, artificial intelligence, and water-food-energy nexus.
