Our Favourites For This Month!
El Fin del Mundo y un Despiadado Pais de las Maravillas Science fiction, detective story and post-modern manifesto all rolled into one rip-roaring novel, "El Fin del Mundo" is the tour de force that expanded Haruki Murakami's international following. Tracking one man's descent into the Kafkaesque underworld of contemporary Tokyo, Murakami unites East and West, tragedy and farce, compassion and detachment, slang and philosophy.
"A sci-fi, hard-boiled detective novel that delves into the surreal. Exactly what you've been looking for, right? Two stories that are told in parallel and end up not exactly where you expect it to. Written with the skill that you expect from a Murakami novel, this is an unusual but endlessly fascinating novel."

Muerto Hasta el Anochecer (True Blood #1) Sookie Stackhouse is quiet, keeps to herself, and doesn't get out much. Not because she's not pretty or not interested in a social life. Sookie's got a bit of a disability. She can read minds and that doesn't make her too dateable. And then along comes Bill, tall, dark, handsome. Sookie can't 'hear' a word he's thinking. He's exactly the type of guy she's been waiting all her life for. But Bill has a disability of his own, he's a vampire. Worse than that, he hangs with a seriously creepy crowd, with a reputation for trouble - of the murderous kind.
"What is essentially a romance novel does not deserve to be this good. I'm not sure if the novels are written in complete earnestness or with a great deal of self-awareness, either way these novels about the lives, loves and tribulations of a world populated with vampires, werewolves, and many more takes the concept to every practical extreme. Creating a highly enjoyable read for anyone who has a taste for the supernatural and a bit of fun!"
